For the past few months, I've done a whole lot of nothing. I've spent weeks, days and countless hours lazing around not able to write, not able to draw and barely able to think.

The first few months of this haze was spent trying to cloud it over with as much pot as a student with two jobs could afford ... and that's a lot. But I quickly digresses as being stoned all the time kind of lost its lustre and I also found myself very low on funds a few times.

So after that I started watching movies as though all the movies in the world would be destroyed sometime soon. I watched everything I could think of that might help inspire me. Secret Window, 21 Grams, The Big Lebowski and Requiem For A Dream to name a few. None of that helped either, it just gave me a solid idea of what I couldn't write about due to it having been done already.

Next on the long list of distractions was video games. At my buddy's place we have the following hooked-up and ready to go: A Gamecube, A PS2, A PS1, A GBA SP, A Nintendo 64, An SNES, A Sega Genesis, An NES and a computer. Didn't help my creativity much but man were some good games played.

Finally a friend of mine turned me onto something that allowed me to fulfill my creative impulses without interfering too much with my personal life. Also I could share this with my friends once every two weeks.

Vampire: The Masquerade has shattered the barrier that was holding me back. I can write again, oh happy fucking day! So for the past month or so I've been playing Vampire and coming home and writing poems based on how things went that night, what new characters I met and how my mood was. There's nothing like a good LARP to get the creative juices pumping.

I've written several dozen short poems and stories based on the way my Malkavian behaves at game. I will be posting them soon too, although if you're not in the know about Vampire I wouldn't suggest getting too excited. However if you know White Wolf's rules or you LARP yourself, you should do just fine here.
